Thanks Bolu, You are right , I wasn't very sure how I will help this class, but I think it will be more like consulting if and when they need help with creating their portfolio website.

Ali, I listened to your podcast and I clearly understand what it is all about. That is a very good example of a summarized update a progress report. i also find the project very interesting in that you're working with colleagues and possibly having a one on one interaction with them. I am not sure however what kind of help you're expected to give. I am hoping it is not much of a handholding but more of consulting. by any means i am sure you're enjoying the project. Good job!

Ali,

Thank you for introducing me to Jing. Since my tool project was Captivate, Jing is a close relative. The podcast introduced the product and gave a brief description of what it does. It was enough to make me search out additional information. The only negative was on occasion, the music was a little louder than your voice. Other than that, I thought it was very good.

Ali, I liked your podcast topic. It is a good idea to give information on Jing, as I guess most of us don't know it. You have presented yourself in the beginning of the podcast and added a comment/ question section. You have also provided your e-mail adress so that people can communicate with you. I really like these ideas. However, I think it is better if you speak up a little. That would help people to hear you better. Thanks for Jing again.

I think it sounds like an interesting idea using xtimeline BUT it may work best only as an additon to some other tool or tool set you use for the project. If it is highschool history you are looking for in the placement I will look around for you.

Ali:

This is very much a shot in the dark, but given your skill set and interests, I think something completely on-line might work out, given the right match.

So: Thinking wikis and collaborative work and timelining, I'm thinking of Dan McDowell, who teaches high school history in San Diego. He does amazing stuff with wikis and other tech tools--check out his website at http://www.ahistoryteacher.com. Browse his stuff and if you're interested, contact him. I think if you explained that you're interested in xtimeline, you could pitch an activity or instructional support that could be developed and supported at a distance, given that he's pretty doggone tech-savvy.
